The UntouchablesHaving watched Sean Connery play James Bond, we move on to watching Sean Connery in the only role that earned him an Oscar.  Alex Wick joins us for The Untouchables, a Brian De Palma directed crime drama about Chicago and Al Capone.  The movie features some fantastic set piece action as well as several truly riveting performances including Connery’s Oscar winning turn.  We also gush all over Ennio Morricone’s score because how can you not?

Next up, we take a look at the only George Lazenby Bond film, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service!

This film also established Robert DeNiro on the A list where he has remained there ever since.  And, of course, it features one of the most iconic scenes in film.  It is so well known, the odds are you have seen dozens of parodies even if you have never watched the original.  Join us to explore this dark vision of psychosis.

Our next movie will be, surprisingly, more upbeat as we watch The Shawshank Redemption.

GoodfellasHard to believe we’ve made it this far in the life of our little podcast without getting down with some Martin Scorsese!  Have no fear, this episode we take a look at one of his masterworks, GoodfellasDeNiro, Pesci and Liotta take us through the world of the gangster in a way that is very nearly Shakespearean.  Larger than life characters play across the screen until we start to understand that they are are all seduced by their own ideas of their lives.  Enjoy our trip through the lives of gangsters, Scorsese style!
