Episode 6 – The 7th Voyage of Sinbad

, with special guest:

The 7th Voyage of SinbadYes, we know that we really should have waited for The 7th Voyage of Sinbad until episode 7 but it didn’t happen that way.  Get over it.  We recorded this episode approximately one week after special effects Genius Ray Harryhausen passed away.  Jena, as usual, had absolutely no knowledge of the film or of Harryhausen.  This was a problem Tim and Melissa gleefully solved.  As a bonus, both Tim and Melissa have stories about actually meeting Ray Harryhausen!  Envy us!

Miklos Roza did the soundtrack for “Golden Voyage” – not “Eye of the Tiger”
Bernard Herrman did the soundtrack on “Seventh Voyage”, “Gulliver”, “Jason”, “Mysterious Island” & “First Men on the Moon” – not 100% sure about “First Men” though.
There were two Dr Who’s in two of Harryhausen’s Sinbad films – Tom Baker in “Golden Voyage” & Patrick Troughton in “Eye of the Tiger”.
Troughton was also in “Jason” incidentally . . .

    1. Yeah, mea culpa… I admit, I mix up the Sinbad films in my brain. I can never keep the titles straight.
